TrailSplits combines official course data with terrain intelligence to help you prepare. Each race page includes a free 16-week training plan custom-built for the course elevation, downloadable GPX files, and interactive elevation profiles that show gradient zones, surface breakdowns, and estimated split times at different paces.
If you're new to trail running, start with a shorter distance (16–31 km). Look at the vertical gain, not just the distance: a 31 km race with 2,000 m of climbing is significantly harder than a flat road marathon. Use the filter chips above to narrow by ultra (100 km+), marathon-distance, or vertical-focused races.
Most Swiss trail races take place between June and October, when snow has melted from high passes. Early-season races (June) may still encounter snow patches above 2,500 m, while late-season events (September–October) offer cooler temperatures and stunning autumn colors. Check each race page for the exact date and course conditions.
Every race distance has a dedicated 16-week training plan with three tiers — Just Finish, Strong Finish, and Race It — so you can match the plan to your experience level. Plans are time-based (not pace-based), include weekly vert targets that build toward race-day demands, and feature deep links into the route planner to find matching local terrain for key workouts.
