How are TrailSplits training plans different from generic marathon plans?

Each plan is built around the official race profile — distance and elevation gain — using time-based sessions and weekly vert targets instead of flat-pace prescriptions. Key workouts deep-link into the route planner so you can find local terrain that matches the race demands. Whether your next race has 800 m or 5,000 m of climbing, the plan scales accordingly.

What do the three training tiers mean?

Just Finish uses lower volume with more hiking time and a conservative ramp — ideal for first-timers. Strong Finish provides balanced volume with a steady vert build for experienced runners. Race It adds higher volume with intervals and quality sessions for competitive runners targeting a time goal.

Can I sync a training plan to my calendar?

Yes. Every plan includes a one-click .ics export that adds all 16 weeks of sessions directly to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, or Outlook — no account required. You can also print the plan as a PDF for offline reference.
