Read the full course description
A point-to-point road course measured and certified to AIMS and World Athletics standards and fully closed to traffic, from Viale Nereo Rocco outside the Stadio Euganeo in the north-west of Padova to Prato della Valle in the city centre, about 3.8 km apart in a straight line. The field heads north-west through Montà and Ponterotto to Rubano around km 5, turns south through Selvazzano Dentro, crossing the Bacchiglione, and passes the La Montecchia golf club on the way to Teolo at the foot of the Euganean Hills near km 20. There the line runs about 1 km west along the SP89 and back, with halfway at the far end, before the SP60 and Via Appia Monterosso lead into Abano Terme, whose pedestrian centre past the Kursaal and the Hotel dell'Orologio comes between about km 26 and km 31. The return follows Via Romana Aponense and the Mandria to Via Armistizio around km 35 to 37, crosses the Ponte Isonzo and runs up Via Goito, then crosses the Ponte San Giovanni delle Navi into the old town just after km 40 for Piazza del Duomo, Piazza dei Signori and Piazza della Frutta, past the Caffè Pedrocchi and Palazzo del Bo, and on to the Basilica of Sant'Antonio and the finish in Prato della Valle. The organizer publishes no climb figure; the terrain model keeps the whole line between about 10 m and 28 m above sea level with roughly 60 m of cumulative climb, so the course is flat. Aid stations with water, tea and solid food stand every 5 km and at the finish, misting points are at km 27.5 and 37.5, pacers run for 3:00 to 5:00 in 15-minute steps, and splits are taken near km 10 and at halfway.

Three decisions to make before race day
Declare your best time from the last two years when you enter
Your bib number and start pen come from the best time of the last two years you declare at entry and are never changed. Results use gun time from the single 08:30 start, so leaving the time out puts you in the rear pen and costs minutes.
More detail
Bib numbers, and with them the start pens, are assigned automatically from the best time of the last two years declared at entry and from the date of entry: 101 to 300 for under 3 h, 301 to 1000 for 3 h to 3 h 30, 1001 to 2000 for 3 h 30 to 4 h and 2001 upwards for slower runners. The rules say the number is never changed afterwards, even if you left the time out, and the official result is gun time from the single 08:30 start, so a runner without a declared time starts from the rear pen and gives away the minutes it takes to reach the line. Pacers for 3:00 to 5:00 wait in the pen that matches their time.
Plan race morning around a start 3.8 km from the finish
Be at the start, 3.8 km from the finish, by 07:30, when bags go on the trucks. Free shuttles leave the station 06:45 to 07:15 and Prato della Valle at 07:00; buses back leave Via Manzoni every 30 minutes, 12:00 to 16:30.
More detail
The start at the Stadio Euganeo is in the north-west of the city and every runner must be there by 07:30, which is also the deadline for handing your bag, with the numbered sticker from your bib envelope, to the courier trucks that carry it to Prato della Valle. Free shuttles leave Padova railway station (lane C in front of the main entrance) from 06:45 to 07:15 and Prato della Valle, in front of Santa Giustina, at 07:00. Drivers get a free pass for the stadium's south car park but must arrive by 07:15, and after the race free buses back to the stadium, stopping at the station, leave Via Manzoni, about 500 m past the finish, every 30 minutes from 12:00 to 16:30. Staying near the station or Prato della Valle keeps the morning to one shuttle ride and leaves you a walk from the finish.
Be in Padova by Saturday evening with the right entry category
Bibs come only from the Fiera di Padova Expo, which closes at 20:00 on Saturday 17 April. Runners from outside Italy should settle their category before paying: club membership, a Runcard with medical certificate, the Health Form or a tourist place.
More detail
Bibs are issued only at the Expo in the Fiera di Padova from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 April, closing at 20:00 on Saturday, and nothing is handed out on race day. Runners from outside Italy should settle their category before paying: membership of a club in a World Athletics federation with the self-declaration form, a Runcard backed by a competitive athletics medical certificate or the organizer's Health Form signed by a doctor and valid on 18 April 2027, which can be supplied after entry, or the non-competitive tourist place with a signed waiver, which lists your time alphabetically with no placing, category or prizes.

Entry for the 27th edition is open through the organizer's ENDU platform and is capped at 2,000 marathon runners, with entries closing early if the cap is reached. The fee rises in steps: 49 euro until 30 September 2026 (Early Bird), 55 euro from 1 October to 20 December 2026, 65 euro from 21 December 2026 to 19 February 2027 and 75 euro from 20 February to 4 April 2027, when online entry closes; any bibs still free are sold at the Expo for 90 euro. Women pay 49 and 55 euro in the first two periods and a fixed 65 euro from 21 December to 4 April, a club sending five entries together gets a sixth free, and runners classified in all 26 earlier editions enter free. The minimum age is 20: the web page says turning 20 during 2027, while the declaration in the rules says 20 by race day. Runners need a FIDAL card, membership of a club in a World Athletics federation with the organizer's self-declaration form, or a Runcard with a competitive athletics medical certificate or, for foreign runners, the organizer's Health Form valid on 18 April 2027; foreign residents with no club can instead take a non-competitive tourist place by signing a waiver. Fees are never refunded, but until 4 April 2027 a place can be passed to another eligible runner or deferred to 2028, each for a 10 euro fee. Bibs and race packs are handed out only at the Expo Village in the Fiera di Padova, Via Niccolò Tommaseo 59, on Thursday 15 April 15:00 to 20:00 and Friday 16 and Saturday 17 April 10:00 to 20:00 against an identity document; a proxy needs the organizer's delegation form and a copy of the runner's identity document, and there is no pickup on race day.
