What to expect on the course
- Downhill about 55 m on Nemanjina from the high point near km 3 to Savski trg by km 5
- Across the Sava on Most na Adi, the cable-stayed bridge, around km 9
- Beside the Danube on Bulevar Nikole Tesle to km 20, then the old centre of Zemun around halfway
- Back over the Sava on Brankov most at km 37, then beneath the Kalemegdan fortress
- A climb of about 45 m to the finish, some 30 m of it in the last 1.2 km up Braće Jugovića and Makedonska
The map follows the 2027 championship marathon route shown on the organizer's course page, matched to the streets; it is the same loop that was first run in 2026.

A single loop, not laps, that starts and finishes on Trg Republike and crosses the Sava twice. This route was first run in 2026 as the test event for the 2027 European Championships, when the men's winner set an event record of 2:09:11, and the organizer's championship course page shows the same loop for 2027. From the square the field heads east and south by Takovska, Kraljice Marije, Bulevar kralja Aleksandra and Beogradska, rising gently to the high point of about 134 m near km 3, then drops about 55 m down Nemanjina to Savski trg by km 5. It follows the Sava along Bulevar Vudroa Vilsona and Bulevar vojvode Misica past the Belgrade Fair and crosses the river on Most na Adi, the cable-stayed bridge, around km 9. Almost everything from km 5 to km 39 then sits at about 75 m on the wide boulevards of Novi Beograd and Zemun: the roundabout by the Novi Beograd municipal building at km 14, Bulevar Nikole Tesle beside the Danube to km 20, the old centre of Zemun on Karadjordjeva, Glavna and Bezanijska around halfway, and a long tour of the western blocks by Tosin bunar at km 27.5, Gandijeva at km 30.5 and Milentija Popovica at km 34.5. Brankov most brings the route back across the Sava into the old town at km 37, and after a short loop through Savamala the course runs north on Karadjordjeva and Bulevar vojvode Bojovica beneath the Kalemegdan fortress to a last low point of about 76 m near km 39. From there it climbs about 45 m to the finish through Dorcol by Cara Dusana, Dzordza Vasingtona, Bulevar despota Stefana, Brace Jugovica and Makedonska, some 30 m of it in the last 1.2 km. The organizer publishes no climb figure for the marathon; the terrain model gives roughly 140 m of ascent over the whole course. Aid-station positions have not been published for 2027, and the 2026 page listed them as still to come.

Three decisions to make before race day
Near six hours, run the first 20 km faster than six-hour pace
The 2026 barriers were front-loaded clock times from the 08:00 gun: km 20 by 10:45 needed about 8:15 per km, against 8:32 for six hours. Aiming above about 5 h 45, pass km 20 by around 10:40 and recheck when the 2027 table is out.
More detail
The 2027 barriers are not yet out, but the 2026 ones were fixed clock times from the 08:00 gun and front-loaded: km 8.5 by 09:10, km 14 by 09:55 and km 20 by 10:45 all need about 8:13 to 8:15 per km, while six hours over the full distance is 8:32 per km. A runner at even six-hour pace would have been about 2 minutes late at km 8.5, 4 at km 14 and 6 at km 20, before the later barriers ease back towards six-hour pace (km 34.5 by 12:55, km 37 by 13:15, the finish at 14:00). Any time spent reaching the start line comes off that margin. If your target is above about 5 h 45, plan to pass Bulevar Nikole Tesle at km 20 by around 10:40 and recheck when the 2027 table is published.
Do not bank time on Nemanjina; keep something for the climb to the square
The real gradients are at the ends: 55 m down Nemanjina from km 3 to 5 and about 45 m up from near km 39 to the square, 30 m of it in the last 1.2 km. Pace evenly on the flat middle and do not bank time downhill.
More detail
The only real gradients are at the two ends: a 55 m drop down Nemanjina between km 3 and km 5, and a climb of about 45 m from the riverside beneath Kalemegdan near km 39 to Trg Republike, with roughly 30 m of it in the last 1.2 km up Brace Jugovica and Makedonska. In between, some 34 km in Novi Beograd and Zemun sit at about 75 m apart from the ramps onto Most na Adi and Brankov most, which is where even pacing pays. A runner who spends the early descent chasing a split will meet the steepest ground of the day with the least left.
Collect your bib at the EXPO before Sunday, around a busy Saturday
Bibs are handed out only in person at the Running EXPO with ID, from 14 April 2027, never on race day. Saturday 17 April has the half marathon and 10K on central streets, so arrive by Friday for the easiest collection.
More detail
Bibs are handed out only in person at the Running EXPO against a valid identity document, and the organizer rules out race-day pickup. The EXPO starts on 14 April 2027; its 2027 venue and hours are still to come, but in 2026 it ran at the Belgrade Fair, Hall 4, from Thursday to Saturday, 12:00 to 22:00. Saturday 17 April is itself a race day, with the championship half marathon at 09:00 and the 10K at 18:00 on central streets and the 2026 half route using both Sava bridges, so arriving by Friday gives the easiest collection.

The 40th edition shares its weekend with the second European Running Championships, and recreational entry is direct through the organizer's championship registration platform with no lottery. The marathon fee rises in steps: a 45 euro pre-registration band and the 50 euro Early Bird and 60 euro Regular bands have closed, the 70 euro Midway Pass runs from 1 September to 30 November 2026 and was current on the check date, then 80 euro from 1 December 2026 to 28 February 2027, 90 euro in March 2027 and 100 euro at the Running EXPO from 14 April 2027. Online entry closes on 31 March 2027, the organizer may close earlier if the field fills, and the minimum age for the marathon is 18. Entries are not refundable; personal details can be edited in the platform account until 10 March 2027, a place can be passed to another runner there for a 5 euro (600 RSD) fee, and a runner can switch distance, paying the difference upwards with no refund downwards. If the event is cancelled or postponed, fees move to the next edition. Bibs are collected only in person at the Running EXPO against a valid identity document, and there is no race-day pickup; the 2027 venue and hours are not yet published, but in 2026 the EXPO ran at the Belgrade Fair, Hall 4, from Thursday to Saturday, 12:00 to 22:00, with marathon packs available on all three days.
