A single tour of the islands from Lidingövägen to the stadium track, on the reordered, slightly flatter 2026 course; the 2027 route is not yet confirmed. The field runs down Odengatan and Sveavägen to the Central Station and round Gamla Stan from km 5, past the Royal Palace near km 6, on uneven asphalt with narrow sections. Strandvägen leads to 600 m up Narvavägen at 2 to 3 percent near km 9 and back past the stadium at km 10. It crosses windy, flat Gärdet by the Maritime Museum, climbs at 3 percent on Djurgården towards Manilla near km 15 and passes Skansen at km 18 on the way to Slussen at halfway. Then the hills: a full kilometre up Katarinavägen from km 21, the high point on Lundagatan near km 27 and Västerbron at km 28. Norr Mälarstrand runs flat to City Hall near km 31 before Hantverkargatan and Fleminggatan climb; Torsgatan descends to the Central Station at km 35, and the last 7 km repeat Gamla Stan, Strandvägen and Narvavägen near km 40 before rising up Sturegatan. With no organizer climb figure, the course file shows roughly 160 m, all below 40 m. The 2026 map places drink stations every 2 to 5 km, several with gels, bananas and cola; pacers run from 3:00 to 5:45.

Three decisions to make before race day
Hold back until Södermalm, where the climbs now come after halfway
Save effort for after halfway: Katarinavägen from km 21, Lundagatan near km 27 and Västerbron at km 28 carry most of the climbing.
More detail
The first half is mostly flat by the water, apart from 600 m up Narvavägen near km 9 and the 3 percent climb towards Manilla near km 15. From Slussen comes a full kilometre up Katarinavägen, then the high point on Lundagatan near km 27 and Västerbron at km 28, with Hantverkargatan and Fleminggatan rising after City Hall and Narvavägen and Sturegatan in the last 3 km.
In a late wave, the checkpoint clocks are your real limit
The four cut-offs are fixed clocks whatever your wave; the 2027 times are not yet published, so check them against your start.
More detail
The four cut-offs are fixed clock times that apply whenever you crossed the line, and waves leave from about 12:00, with group limits set in early May so that groups are equal in size; an expected time faster than 3:35 needs a verified race result. The 2027 checkpoints are unpublished; the older list ran from 21.1 km by 15:25 to 36 km by 17:45.
Sold out: a name change is the only way in or out
The race is sold out. Name changes run from 1 February 2027 until 10 days before, and only Folksam insurance refunds an entry.
More detail
Entries are binding and personal, and the organizer's FAQ names Folksam race insurance as the only route to a refund. From 1 February 2027 a place can be transferred through the participant account or the bytastartplats.se marketplace the organizer points to, until 10 days before the race, with either party paying the fee. Bibs come from the expo, Thursday to Saturday of race week.
