Read the full course description

A point-to-point road course, USATF certified and a Boston qualifier, which the organizer calls Stadium to the Stars. On the 2026 line it falls about 70 m in the first 5 km from Dodger Stadium through Chinatown, past City Hall near km 4 and into Little Tokyo, then climbs about 35 m up Bunker Hill past Disney Hall to km 6.5, the steepest pull. Sunset Boulevard leads through Echo Park near km 9 and Silver Lake, rolling between about 105 and 130 m, and Hollywood Boulevard passes the Pantages near km 17 and the Chinese Theatre at km 18. After the Sunset Strip the course drops about 60 m between km 22 and 25 into Beverly Hills by Doheny Drive, passes Rodeo Drive near km 27 and the finish area at km 29, then runs out through Westwood along Wilshire and San Vicente Boulevards, climbing about 30 m, to a turn at Bundy Drive at km 35.5. The last 6.5 km come back the same way, mostly downhill, with a rise of about 15 m to the finish. The organizer counts 912 ft of climbing, and the finish lies about 65 m below the start. There are 19 aid stations about every 1.5 miles with water and Electrolit, gels at miles 12 and 18, and pacers from 3:00 to 6:30.

Three decisions to make before race day

  1. Send a qualifying time by 7 January 2027 for a seeded corral

Seeded corrals A to E take the fastest 7,300 with a marathon since 1 January 2024; A needs under 3:15:59 and E under 5:00:59. Submit the time by 7 January 2027, or you start in the Open corral.

    More detail

Corrals A to E hold the fastest 7,300 entrants with a marathon run between 1 January 2024 and 7 January 2027: A under 3:15:59, B 3:50:59, C 4:10:59, D 4:35:59, E 5:00:59. Give the time at registration or email proof by 7 January; nothing changes after that. Everyone else lines up by pace signs in the Open corral behind. Corrals close at 06:40.

  2. Book a free start shuttle when you register

The finish is about 16 km from the start with no shuttle back. Reserve a free shuttle at registration: Century City 03:00 to 05:30, or Union Station at 05:00, 05:30 or 06:00.

    More detail

The finish is about 16 km from the start, and no shuttle returns to Dodger Stadium or Union Station. Free shuttles, reserved at registration, leave Avenue of the Stars south of Olympic Boulevard from 03:00 to 05:30 and Union Station, Bay 9, at 05:00, 05:30 and 06:00. Dodger Stadium parking is free from 03:00, but cars left after 18:00 are towed. Gear check closes at 06:30.

  3. Run the opening downhill gently: the climbs come at km 5 and after km 31

The first 5 km fall about 70 m, then Bunker Hill climbs about 35 m to km 6.5. After a 60 m drop from km 22 to 25, the road climbs about 30 m to the turn at km 35.5.

    More detail

The course falls about 70 m in the first 5 km, then climbs about 35 m up Bunker Hill to km 6.5 before rolling through Silver Lake and Hollywood. A 60 m drop from km 22 to 25 is followed by a climb of about 30 m out to the Bundy Drive turn at km 35.5. The organizer counts 912 ft of climbing, so bank little time early.

Target finish time, including stops

The initial value is the first published start, not your assigned wave. America/Los_Angeles.

Time limit: 6 h 30 from the last on-time starter; streets reopen behind a 15-minute-mile pace

How this sheet applies the limit

The limit is 6 h 30 counted from when the last on-time runner crosses the start line, so its closing time depends on how long the field takes to start. Streets reopen behind a 15-minute-mile pace; slower runners are sent to the pavement, may finish but are not guaranteed a time, and aid stations close on the same rolling schedule. No intermediate cut-offs are published. The finish area is open 07:30 to 15:00.

A timing comparison, not a fitness assessment. Intermediate cutoffs, queues, weather and terrain are not modelled. Stops are spread evenly in the illustration; actual checkpoint times will differ.
