A single hilly loop on closed roads from beside the Knesset to the southern end of Sacher Park nearby. The opening 8 km circle Givat Ram past the Israel Museum and run south beside Sacher Park, then Tchernichovsky and HaPalmach lead past the President's Residence to Keren HaYesod and Paris Square. King George Street climbs to the highest point, about 817 m, where the course turns back near km 11, and a loop round Mamilla reaches the Old City walls at about km 14. The route then heads north past Ammunition Hill to a loop round the Hebrew University campus on Mount Scopus from about km 17 to 21, returns to Jaffa Gate, crosses the Armenian Quarter and leaves by Zion Gate near km 26. The second half weaves through Talbiya, Emek Refaim and Hebron Road, with out-and-back legs to the Armon HaNatziv promenade near km 34 and into Talpiot near km 36, then returns through Katamon and the Valley of the Cross. The organizer gives no climb total, and this map shows roughly 450 m of short rises between about 730 and 817 m, including about 35 m in the last 1.5 km. The organizer map marks water, fruit, gel and isotonic points and sprinklers without stating spacing, and pacers from a local club wait in the start pen.

Three decisions to make before race day
Six hours from the gun, with no second marathon start
The finish closes at 12:30, six hours after the single 06:30 start, and runners who fall behind may be moved to the pavement or stopped. Near the limit, plan a half-hour margin.
More detail
The finish closes six hours after the start signal, at 12:30 after the single 06:30 marathon start, and marshals may move runners who fall behind onto the pavement or stop them anywhere on the course. With about 450 m of climbing, a runner near the limit should plan a margin of half an hour rather than count on the full six hours.
