What to expect on the course

  • Charles Bridge at km 2 to 3, a 490 m cobbled crossing in the crowded opening kilometres
  • The Holešovice and Karlín riverside loop over Libeňský most, back to the Old Town through the Těšnov tunnel at km 13
  • Wenceslas Square and Národní, then Smíchov, a spur into Nusle at km 18 to 19 and the Vyšehrad tunnel
  • Out-and-backs turning after km 22 in Podolí and after km 28 on Strakonická
  • The Holešovice and Karlín loop again from km 33 to 41, then the finish down Pařížská

The map follows the 2026 course with both Holesovice loops and the river out-and-backs; the organizer says the 2027 map will follow.

Read the full course description

One large city loop with a repeated northern section, starting and finishing on Old Town Square. Runners leave by Parizska, cross Cechuv most, climb briefly through Mala Strana and cross the cobbled Charles Bridge at km 2 to 3, return over Manesuv most and run the Holesovice and Karlin riverside loop with Libensky most and the Tesnov tunnel back to the Old Town at km 13. Celetna, Na Prikope, Wenceslas Square and Narodni lead to the embankments; Jiraskuv and Palackeho bridges take the field through Smichov, a spur into Nusle at km 18 to 19 precedes the Vysehrad tunnel and the Podoli out-and-back with its turn after km 22, then a second out-and-back on Strakonicka turns after km 28. Most Legii and Manesuv most bring runners back for a repeat of the Holesovice and Karlin loop at km 33 to 41 before the finish down Parizska. The organizer publishes no elevation figure; the course is flat apart from bridge ramps and two tunnels, with about 3.8 km of historic cobbles listed segment by segment.

Three decisions to make before race day

  1. Set your finish target against the 15:00 clock, not the seven-hour figure

The limit is seven hours from the 08:00 gun but results are chip time, so a runner who crosses the line minutes after 08:00 has less. The per-km last-runner table on the map is enforced along the way.

    More detail

The limit runs seven hours from the starting gun while your result is chip time. A runner who crosses the start line several minutes after 08:00 from a rear corridor has correspondingly less than seven hours of chip time, and the per-kilometre last-runner table on the map is enforced along the way.

  2. Travel on Friday, or accept a Saturday trip to the expo

Bibs come only from the expo, in 2026 at Výstaviště Holešovice, Friday and Saturday 10:00 to 20:00. There is no race-day pickup and uncollected packs cannot be claimed later, so plan it as its own trip.

    More detail

Bibs are handed out only at the marathon expo, in 2026 at Vystaviste Holesovice on Friday and Saturday 10:00 to 20:00, and packs not collected there cannot be claimed later. There is no race-day pickup and the expo is not at the start, so plan the collection as its own trip.

  3. Choose shoes and pacing for about 3.8 km of cobbles

About 3.8 km of cobbles in sixteen sections: the first three kilometres are almost all cobbled and crowded, Charles Bridge included, and the 710 m Dvořákovo nábřeží is run twice. Hold back on the stones.

    More detail

The organizer lists sixteen cobbled sections: the first three kilometres are almost entirely cobbled and crowded, including the 490 m Charles Bridge crossing, and the 710 m Dvorakovo nabrezi stretch is run twice. Hold back on those stones rather than chase early pace.

Target finish time, including stops

The initial value is the first published start, not your assigned wave. Europe/Prague.

Time limit: Seven hours from the 08:00 gun, so the course closes at 15:00; results on chip time

How this sheet applies the limit

The organizer allows seven hours from the starting gun, so the course closes at 15:00 after the 08:00 start, while results are ranked on chip time. A per-kilometre last-runner table is printed on the course map and treated as the cut-off at each mark; in 2026 it ran from 08:56 at 5 km through 11:33 at halfway to 14:58 at 42 km. The 2027 table is not yet published. This sheet checks the 15:00 finish clock only.

A timing comparison, not a fitness assessment. Intermediate cutoffs, queues, weather and terrain are not modelled. Stops are spread evenly in the illustration; actual checkpoint times will differ.
