A single point-to-point through the city from Corso Sempione, behind the Arco della Pace, to Piazza del Duomo. The 2026 route runs up Corso Sempione to Piazza Firenze and along Via Cenisio to Piazzale Cimitero Monumentale at km 3, passes Piazza della Repubblica at km 5 to the Bastioni di Porta Venezia and a short turn at Piazza Oberdan, then follows the inner ring of boulevards south and west through Piazza Cinque Giornate at km 7, Porta Romana at km 8 and Viale Papiniano at km 11 to Piazzale Baracca and the Pagano area at km 12 to 13. An out-and-back down Via Buonarroti to Piazza Wagner at km 13.5 to 14 leads through Piazzale Giulio Cesare and CityLife, up Viale Scarampo and Viale De Gasperi to the Via Sant'Elia turn at km 19, past the San Siro stadium at km 22 and the racecourse to Via Novara at km 24. A north-western loop through Cascina Bellaria, Lampugnano and the Gallaratese, with Via Uruguay near km 29, returns along Via Gallarate and Viale Scarampo to Corso Sempione at km 36, crosses Parco Sempione behind the Castello Sforzesco, and finishes by Via della Moscova, Via San Marco, Via Senato and Via Monte Napoleone into Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and Piazza del Duomo. The organizer publishes no elevation figure; the reference track stays within a band of about 20 m from start to finish, with no hill of note.

Three decisions to make before race day

  1. Choose your entry category before paying

Without a FIDAL or foreign federation licence you need a RUNCARD plus a medical certificate with ECG and spirometry, or, if resident abroad, a non-competitive bib. Entry cannot be transferred or deferred, so settle this and the 10 euro insurance at entry.

    More detail

A runner without a FIDAL or foreign federation licence races competitively only with a RUNCARD plus an athletics-specific medical certificate covering rest and exercise ECG and spirometry, or, if resident abroad, non-competitively with a different bib and no ranking. The paperwork must be complete before bib collection, and the entry can be neither transferred nor deferred, so decide the category and the 10 euro insurance at registration rather than at the expo.

  2. Be in Milan by Saturday 3 April and plan two venues

Bibs come only from the Running Festival on 1 to 3 April, with no race-morning pickup, so arrive by Saturday. Your bag goes in at Piazza Castello near the start while the finish is at the Duomo, so plan that walk.

    More detail

Bibs are handed out only at the Milano Running Festival on 1 to 3 April, with no shipment and no pickup on race morning, so a Sunday arrival is not viable. The organizer bag is dropped and collected at Piazza Castello near the Corso Sempione start, while the finish is in Piazza del Duomo, so arrange your change of clothes around that walk.

  3. Run the gates on the clock, in the west of the city

The km 21.1 gate (about 12:05) is in the San Siro streets and the km 27.8 gate (about 13:10) near Lampugnano, and later waves have less time. Miss one and you run on the pavement in traffic or take the broom bus.

    More detail

The km 21.1 gate at about 12:05 falls in the San Siro streets and the km 27.8 gate at about 13:10 near Lampugnano, far from the centre, and a runner in a later wave has correspondingly less than the 3 h 15 and 4 h 20 the rules quote. After a missed gate you continue on the pavement under normal traffic rules or take the broom bus, whose transfers from km 12.8, 22.3 and 28 leave at 11:15, 12:30 and 13:30.

Target finish time, including stops

08:15 is the first gun; the 2027 wave times are still to be published (2026 waves left at 08:15, 08:30 and 08:45). Replace it when your wave is announced. Europe/Rome.

Time limit: 6 h 30; the rules do not say whether from your wave gun or your chip crossing

How this sheet applies the limit

The 2027 rules give a 6 h 30 limit with two gates, at km 21.1 after 3 h 15 of racing (about 12:05) and at km 27.8 after 4 h 20 (about 13:10); after those times roads reopen and runners are moved to the pavement or a bus. The rules do not say whether the limit runs from your wave gun or your chip crossing: non-elite results are ranked on chip time, while the gate clocks sit about 3 h 20 and 4 h 25 after the last of the 2026 waves, which left at 08:15, 08:30 and 08:45. The 2027 waves are still to be published. This sheet applies 6 h 30 to the start you enter and checks neither gate.

A timing comparison, not a fitness assessment. Intermediate cutoffs, queues, weather and terrain are not modelled. Stops are spread evenly in the illustration; actual checkpoint times will differ.
