This is the 2026 course; no 2027 route has been published. The start on the Schiedamsedijk leads straight onto the Erasmusbrug, then south-east along Laan op Zuid past De Kuip, the Feijenoord stadium, to IJsselmondseplein at km 5. A detour added in 2026 between km 7 and 11 takes the field back to De Kuip, then south to Spinozaweg at km 10 and west along Havenspoorpad to km 15. A double section through Oldegaarde near km 20 replaced the Zuiderpark loop, halfway falls on Dorpsweg, and the route then swings north and east along the Maashaven to Laan op Zuid at km 25 and back over the Erasmusbrug at about km 27. Near km 28 the field runs close to the finish, then heads east past the Markthal and the Cube Houses at Blaak and north to Warande at km 30 for a long loop around the Kralingse Plas from about km 32 to 39, with Boszoom at km 35. The last kilometres return past the Cube Houses to the Coolsingel. The organizer calls the course flat, and the two crossings of the Erasmusbrug bring the main rises. In 2026 drinks stations stood every 5 km, with bananas at km 20, a gel at km 34 and sponge points in between, and pacers ran for 3:00 to 5:00.

Three decisions to make before race day
Pre-register as soon as the window opens
Places go by random draw with no waiting list, so pre-register as soon as the window opens. Join the interest list for the opening email.
More detail
Places for 2027 go by random draw among pre-registrations, so entering fast does not help but missing the window does, and there is no waiting list for the marathon. Join the interest list for the opening email. For 2026, runners who were drawn had about five days to complete entry and pay, and those not drawn were offered a guaranteed place at another spring marathon.
Check your wave against last year's cut-offs
In 2026 the limit was 5 h 30, with halfway in 2 h 45, the Erasmusbrug by 14:15 and km 28 in 3 h 40. Treat these as last year's figures until 2027 is confirmed.
More detail
In 2026 the limit was 5 h 30 with checks at halfway in 2 h 45, the Erasmusbrug back towards the centre by 14:15 and km 28 in 3 h 40, counted from the last runner's start, which closed the finish at 16:06. Waves followed the expected finish time entered by 15 March; later entrants went to the last wave. Treat these as 2026 figures until 2027 is confirmed.
The finish at km 28 is not the finish
The route passes near the Coolsingel at km 28, then loops the Kralingse Plas and only returns at about km 41. Save effort for the last 14 km.
More detail
After the second crossing of the Erasmusbrug the route passes within a few hundred metres of the Coolsingel near km 28, then heads out for the loop around the Kralingse Plas and does not return to the centre until about km 41. Save effort for those last 14 km, use the sponge points between the drinks stations, and fix Boszoom at km 35 as your late-race marker.
