UTMB World Series

Running Stones, and how to get one

A Running Stone is an entry into the lottery for the UTMB World Series Finals — OCC, CCC and UTMB at HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc. You earn one by finishing a World Series event, not by entering it. This page tracks 52 upcoming events and 206 Stone-awarding courses from the catalog, so you can see which ones are actually reachable in time.

Rules checked against the official UTMB sports system on 20 Sept 2026. TrailSplits is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by UTMB Group.

The rules, in short

  • • You need at least one Stone earned in the past two years to enter the lottery.
  • • Stones are cumulative and do not expire. Each one is an extra entry in the draw.
  • • You also need a valid UTMB Index — a finish in the relevant category within the past 24 months.
  • • Stones come only from finishing a World Series Event or Major, in the 20K, 50K, 100K or 100M category.
  • • A Major awards double. Four are held each year, one per region.

A 20K finish is enough to hold a Stone. The distance only changes how many lottery entries you hold — it is not a qualifying threshold, so the shortest race at a nearby event is a legitimate way in.

We will never tell you that you are qualified. Verify your Stone balance and Index in MyUTMB.
