Blekingeleden across the whole of Blekinge in Region Blekinge's fifteen stages, from Sölvesborg over Ryssberget and through the lake and forest country by Olofström, then by Järnavik on the coast and Ronneby to Kristianopel and Bröms in the east.
Best season: All year. Blekingeleden is a lowland trail and can be walked all year, Region Blekinge says. The hunting season runs from mid-August to the end of January and is busiest in October, with the moose hunt: walk with care, and sleep at the trail's shelters or camp close to the stage ends. In high season the shelters can be full. Before you go

Days end at a stage end with a refuge or a village, or in a village the route passes through. Walking times are measured on each stage's mapped line by our route analysis (terrain heights and our hiking-time model, moving time only): no time is published for these stages.Outside Switzerland our walking times often run short of the times route operators publish; treat them as optimistic. Running times use 7.5 km/h plus one hour per 700 m of climb: a steady reference, not a prediction. Daylight is sunrise to sunset where the day starts; the time left is for breaks, meals and delays.Refuge dates come from the operator's own pages; when they are not published, we say so. For villages we count the places to stay OpenStreetMap lists; we have not checked which are open. A plan is not a booking: reserve every night before you commit to these day lengths.

Snow at the high point is estimated with a simple snowpack model from these temperatures and precipitation, not observed; steep islands and high summits can hold more snow than it shows. Before you go
Prepare for Blekingeleden
Arrange your stays, food and travel first, then check conditions again near departure.
Carry a tent; book the few beds
The shelters on Blekingeleden are free, first come, and cannot be booked. In high season they can be full; you can always pitch a tent beside one, and Region Blekinge suggests carrying a tarp. Six of the fourteen stage ends have no confirmed shelter or bed, among them Alljungen, at the end of the 34.1 km stage 11. The campsites at Halens camping, Långasjönäs and Järnavik and the hotel, hostel and guest house in Ronneby and Kristianopel take bookings with each of them. In the hunting season, from mid-August to the end of January, sleep at the trail's shelters or camp close to the stage ends.
Replacement buses on the railway, 11 to 23 October
Blekingetrafiken has buses in place of some Öresundståg trains in October 2026. From 11 to 15 October the last train from Malmö towards Karlskrona (21:27) is replaced by a bus on part of the line. From 16 to 18 October there are no trains between Sölvesborg and Kristianstad: buses run instead. From 18 to 22 October the last train from Malmö is a bus between Ronneby and Karlskrona, and from 19 to 23 October the first train from Karlskrona (04:48) is a bus leaving at 04:30.
Hunting in Blekinge runs from mid-August to the end of January, busiest in October with the moose hunt. You can still walk: take care not to disturb hunters or their dogs, and sleep at the trail's shelters or camp close to the stage ends. Three stage pages carried current notices on 13 October 2026: on stages 3, 4 and 8; each stage below says what to do.
Stage 11, Skärsviken to Alljungen, is 34.1 km by the stage page, the longest on the trail (30.8 km on our line). The page names no shelter or bed on the way or at Alljungen, so no stay is confirmed there: start early, carry a tent, and plan the night at Alljungen before you set off. Stage 14 to Kristianopel is the next longest, 26.3 km.
The shelters are free and cannot be booked; a Blekingeleden camp place has a shelter, fireplace, toilet and bins, and only some have water. Region Blekinge says most stages have a tap; boil lake water. Food shops are only in Sölvesborg, Näsum, Olofström, Asarum (by Långasjönäs), Ronneby, Fågelmara and Kristianopel.
Where no bus runs, Blekingetrafiken's Öppen närtrafik takes you from a set address to the nearest stop with regular buses or trains. Book at least three hours ahead, 24 hours with a pet, and up to two weeks before. It serves addresses at least 1 km from a stop, or near a stop with fewer than two departures each way between 09:00 and 17:00.
Region Blekinge posts changes to the trail on its news page: the newest item on 13 October 2026, a new bridge over the Lyckebyån at Mästaremåla on stage 12, is from January 2025.
Google Maps journey searches, not confirmed services. A mountain endpoint may need a booked transfer or an additional walk.
To the start in Sölvesborg
Öresundståg trains on the line between Malmö and Karlskrona, and Blekingetrafiken's buses, stop at Sölvesborg; the trail starts by the station. From 16 to 18 October 2026 buses replace the trains between Kristianstad and Sölvesborg.
Buses run to Olofström (the end of stage 3), and Ronneby (stage 9) is on the railway. Several other stage ends have a bus nearby. Where none runs, book Blekingetrafiken's Öppen närtrafik at least three hours ahead.
The trail ends at Bröms, north of Kristianopel. Region Blekinge names no bus line at either place: check the journey planner, or book Öppen närtrafik, before you set off. Karlskrona has trains.

Route & sources
Route map & sources
Region Blekinge, which owns the trail, publishes Blekingeleden as fifteen stages (etapper) from Sölvesborg to Bröms: 277.4 km by its stage pages, which give each stage's length and a difficulty colour (green, easy, or blue, medium). It publishes no stage times, only each stage's km, given with ours on every stage. Its headline figure is "27 mil" on some pages and "26 mil" on others; the stage lengths are the firmer number. The line here is the route on OpenStreetMap (the Blekingeleden superroute and its fifteen stage routes, from the planet of 11 October 2026): 270.6 km, cut at the fifteen stage ends. It leaves out the 2.5 km road into Kristianopel, where the official stage 14 ends and stage 15 starts: our stage 14 stops where that road leaves the trail, and the walk into the village and back belongs to the night there. Stage 11 is 30.8 km on our line against 34.1 km by its page, and stage 6 17.1 against 19.5 km. Our climb is measured on terrain heights, so short steep rises are smoothed out.
Official guidance and mapped-source comparison checked 13 October 2026. Map data is a route reference, not confirmation of today's path, weather or accommodation availability.
