Planken to Gafadurahütte and back

6.27 km · ↑ 638 m · ↓ 638 m · mapped track estimates

Climb from Planken through woodland to the pastures around Gafadurahütte. The Liechtenstein Alpine Club recommends this approach to its hut above the Rhine valley, where the terrace is the natural turning point for a day walk.

Effort & terrain

The club describes white-red-white marked mountain approaches from Planken, with approximately two hours for its natural-road option. This mapped footpath variant has its own profile; allow separately for the descent and use the local signs to judge the terrain.

Season & stops

Choose snow-free conditions and check the club's hut and path information. For a meal or overnight stay, confirm opening and book directly before leaving the valley.

Getting to the start

Reach Planken by LIEmobil public transport and allow for the walk from your chosen stop to the mapped village start. The club also describes an approach from the waterworks above the village, which changes the start and walking distance.

Return & overnight choices

The default outing retraces the same path to Planken. An overnight option ends at the hut: reserve directly with the Alpine Club and confirm arrangements. Carry your own supplies when refreshments are unavailable.

Route variants, figures & sources

The map uses the captured Planken footpath approach and its reverse. The club describes several approaches; its natural-road walking time is contextual, rather than a measured duration for this exact footpath line.

Distances and elevation profiles follow each selected track. Climb uses the same GPX calculation as the Planner. These are map-based estimates; check local signs, weather and operating services for your day.
