Svaneke to Snogebæk harbour: 16 km, 4 to 5 h, easy to medium; the last 4 km are on the sand of Balka Beach. We found no place to stay in Snogebæk.
Best season: May to September for beds. Destination Bornholm gives no season for the path itself; the places to stay set it. Danhostel Sandvig opens 18 April to 27 September, Nordskoven Strand Camping 29 April to 27 September, Møllers Dueodde Camping 2 May to 24 September 2026 and Dueodde Familiecamping & Hostel 6 May to 19 September: by October all four have closed. The other hostels and campsites give no season on the pages we read, so ask them. The free shelters are first come, first served. Before you go

Stage start
Svaneke
Town
Leg 4 ends at Svaneke harbour. The hostel and Hullehavn Camping are on leg 5, within about 1.3 km south of the harbour.
A town or village: find accommodation yourself. TrailSplits has not checked what is open.
Leg 5 ends at Snogebæk harbour. We found no place to stay in Snogebæk itself. The two Dueodde campsites, about 4 km on along leg 6, are open only from May to September; out of season, take the bus from the Snogebæk Havn stop to a town with beds.
A town or village: find accommodation yourself. TrailSplits has not checked what is open.
Hostels and campsites book with the operator, online, by phone or by email. Several close from late September to April or May, so out of season check every night before you go. Bornholm's shelters and primitive campsites are free, first come first served, for one night at a time; only the Rundemose shelter site and the Finnedalen campsite can be booked, and only by groups. A tent may go up only in four forests: Blykobbe Plantage (between Rønne and Hasle, on leg 1), Rø Plantage, Pedersker skov and the north of Almindingen.

Source: TerraClimate 1991–2020 monthly averages. Averages for the area at each point’s elevation (4 km grid, corrected for height). Not a forecast or a report of current trail conditions. Snow at the high point is estimated with a simple snowpack model from these temperatures and precipitation, not observed; steep islands and high summits can hold more snow than it shows. Daylight is for the 15th of each month. Hut, transport and park seasons are separate: check them for your dates.
Before you go
Prepare for Kyststien
Arrange your stays, food and travel first, then check conditions again near departure.
The Raghammer firing range (leg 6)
Between Dueodde and Boderne, west of Østre Sømark, the path crosses Raghammer Skydeterræn, a training area of the Danish Defence (Forsvaret). We could not confirm where its firing days are published: check Forsvaret's website or ask locally before you walk leg 6, and follow the signs on the ground.
By 13 October 2026, Danhostel Sandvig, Nordskoven Strand Camping and both Dueodde campsites had closed for the year. Hasle Camping, Sandvig Familiecamping, the hostels in Gudhjem and Svaneke, Sannes and Hullehavn give no season on the pages we read: ask before you count on them. The free shelters need no booking.
Shelters and primitive campsites are free, first come first served, one night at a time. Tents go up only in the four listed forests. The shelter at Hammerhavn on leg 2 is on the path; it is the only one on the path we could confirm.
Leg 2, Hasle to Sandvig round Hammerknuden, is the hardest: uneven paths and many climbs and descents, with water only at Hasle, the Hammershus visitor centre, Hammerhavn and Sandvig beach. Leg 7 has pebble beaches and many steps between Boderne and Arnager. Legs 5 and 6 run for long stretches on the beach.
Google Maps journey searches, not confirmed services. A mountain endpoint may need a booked transfer or an additional walk.
To the start in Rønne
The loop starts at the Bornholm Welcome Centre on Nordre Kystvej, by Rønne harbour and a short walk from the terminal where the Bornholmslinjen ferries dock. Check sailings with Bornholmslinjen; the Snellemark v Havnegade bus stop is by the start.
BAT buses stop at every leg end: Hasle Fælled, Sandvig gl. Station, Gudhjem, Svaneke Havn, Snogebæk Havn and Boderne. Check the timetables on bat.dk before a day that ends with a bus.
Prepare each leg while you still have a connection, and keep the GPX on your phone for the stretches over the cliffs.
Keep your route and maps on your phone for places without a signal. For multi-day trips, prepare them in the installed TrailSplits app.

Route map & sources
Destination Bornholm (bornholm.info) publishes Kyststien as seven legs, numbered clockwise from the Bornholm Welcome Centre in Rønne: 121 km added up, "approximately 120 km" on its overview page, with an official stage time for each, shown beside ours on every stage. The times leave out meal breaks, and either direction is fine, it says. The line here is the route on OpenStreetMap (relation 13045749, from the planet of 11 October 2026): a 120.5 km loop, cut at the seven leg ends, Hasle, Sandvig, Gudhjem, Svaneke, Snogebæk, Boderne and Rønne. Each of our legs is within 1.5 km of the official figure. Our climb is measured on terrain heights, so the short steep steps on the cliffs are smoothed out.
Official guidance and mapped-source comparison checked 13 October 2026. Map data is a route reference, not confirmation of today's path, weather or accommodation availability.
