A loop from the Schynige Platte railway terminus
The railway is the constraint: it runs 13 June to 25 October 2026, first up at 07:25 and last down at 17:53. The walk itself takes about two hours.
A short circuit from the top of the rack railway, around the Oberberghorn and back, with the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau on one side and Lake Thun and Lake Brienz below on the other. The alpine garden by the station is part of the visit for most people.

SchweizMobil publishes this as local route 345. Its official line is 5.7 km; ours measures 5.65 km. Allow about two hours with stops, more if you take the alpine garden properly.

From the same station the Faulhornweg runs six hours east to First. The loop is what you do when you only have the morning.
